The Confrontation es una canción del primer acto, interpretada por Jean Valjean y Javert. De ritmo lento, su instrumentación es la misma que en Prologue: Work Song. En ella se intercalan los dos personajes.
En la reedición francesa se le conoce como La confrontation.
